Drupal is a robust platform and Content Management System. It is used for communities, ecommerce, many sizes of sites from small companies, to non-profit groups.Those are the main reasons why I use drupal as a cms:
  • modularYou can extend the drupal core easily because it was designed to be modular with a system of hooks and callbacks.
  • themableThere some core themes available at the first install, but you can download a lot of them and reuse easily.
  • securityA dedicated security team monitors the core and the modules constatly.
  • translationsThe core and the main modules are available in many languages.
